Plato and The Republic
Plato lived in ancient Greece.
He was a great thinker
and writer, and his ideas helped start Western philosophy.
He wrote down his ideas in the form of many famous
dialogues and letters.
The Republic is his most famous
book.
In it, Plato discusses politics and what makes a good
city and a good man.
The modern world is still influenced
by his writings about life, education, government, art,
maths and science.
